Beautiful Clearlake in California

Beautiful Clearlake in California
Pacific Ocean/Mendocino Feb 2016
Update: March 6th, 2016.
After a very very long year of learning to live a new life with my most recent handicap. I am getting movement in my arm!! :) It started the end of August and has been progressing, slowly. My issues with paranioia and depression are also getting better. I am confident that things will continue to progress. However, loosing a whole YEAR of my life is devastating to say the least. However, keeping a positive attitude for the most part has been a huge challenge, but I do it. I am grateful to all my family and friends that have been so encouraging and helpful. Thank you..

Ripley, Surgery, Alturas, CA

We arrived on time at the veterinary office in Alturas on Monday at 4pm. I dropped off my little boy Ripley for his pre-op. The surgery on Tuesday morning. On our way up from Clearlake to Alturas, we drove by Hat Creek, had to try my luck (fishing)at the “Bridge” on Hwy 89. Pulled into the parking lot and couldn’t get my pole and bait on quick enough and got that line in the water.. Ripley was on a leash anxiously looking into the creek waiting for me to get that fish, that never came.. Sad smile  Rip just loves to “get” that fish when you reel one in!! We tried our luck in different places along the creek, no bites and no fish.. however did loose a few hooks.. Hey you know what I always say.. “The worst day fishing is better than the best day working”! And that’s my story and I am sticking to it!!
I found it quite unique while fishing there at the “Bridge”.. There were all WOMEN fishing and only one man.. How often do you see that? There were about 10 or so women fishing.. pretty cool I thought. Time was short so I could only fish for about hour and half or so.. needed to get going still had about a 2 hour drive in front of me to get to the veterinary clinic.. After dropping Ripley off I went to try my “luck” at another “chance” game.. The Casino!! Well lets just say this was NOT my lucky day!! Lost my $5 bucks and down the road I went to the Mill Creek Lodge (bed & breakfast) in Likely, CA.
What a wonderful place this Mill Creek Lodge is! It is like “coming home”. See my review below.. You will love it!
For now I will say that Dixie & Duane are wonderful hosts!

Tuesday morning wanted to see Ripley before leaving town and heading to our friends Stan & Glorianne (just love these guys) who live in McArthur about 75 miles west of Alturas. I called the vet office and they said I would see Rip after 3pm.. aww well gave it some thought and thought and decided to go a head and head to S & G’s place.. I am sure Ripley was resting comfortably and if I came by he would get all excited and wanna come with me.. and then I might start “blubbering” and didn’t want that.. Smile
Always feel so welcome coming to S & G’s place.. When I got to their place, couldn’t find them and needed a bite to eat, had some snacks in the back of the suv.. had a picnic on the back lawn.. Was sitting on the nice cool green lawn under the shade of a lovely tree, just relaxing.. When S & G came out and said why didn’t you come in? I said I yelled in the door, no answer so that was the perfect time to sit on the lawn..   Smile Glorianne had dinner ready to go.. she is always so organized! Stan was working on his different projects that he has going, always has something going.. “G” just makes dinner like there is no effort at all..and dinner was delicious.. Glorianne is such a incredible, warm and caring woman. She gives so much, her reward is giving.. Stan is her total support system. Stan gets his satisfaction from seeing her happy. They are like a hand and glove always working together. Smile I was fortunate to have been able to stay with them during this trying time with Ripley.
I called the vet office on Wednesday morning and good news! Ripley was doing GREAT and they said you can pick him up!! woo hooo!! Glorianne and I drove over to Alturas (about 75 miles one way) and picked up our “little boy”.. He was so alert and soooo happy to see his “mom”.. poor boy..What a trooper.. Great patient so far.. He has a blue & white vet taped splint.. pretty cool..
What a boy!!

When we got back to S & G’s .. there was some things that needed to be done at the Museum, so we put Rippy Boy in the kennel and off we went.. Moved a display case, “G” decorated it with some very old hats and then we were off again.. Ripley was resting nicely when we got back..
My turn to cook dinner.. Seems like every time I cook them dinner the meat comes out “tuff”.. think I might have to rethink what I cook for them..? Had a lovely dinner with lovely friends.. Smile Ripley slept with  me.. he was a bit restless all night.. so not much sleep.. was up early this morning.. Got ready to go and Glorianne (bless her heart) got breakfast already.. I always eat well when I am up there.. Smile
Left there about 8am got home about 1pm.. long day and I am tired.. View of Mt. Shasta from S& G’s back deck.. beautiful..
