Beautiful Clearlake in California
Pacific Ocean/Mendocino Feb 2016
Update: March 6th, 2016.
After a very very long year of learning to live a new life with my most recent handicap. I am getting movement in my arm!! :) It started the end of August and has been progressing, slowly. My issues with paranioia and depression are also getting better. I am confident that things will continue to progress. However, loosing a whole YEAR of my life is devastating to say the least. However, keeping a positive attitude for the most part has been a huge challenge, but I do it. I am grateful to all my family and friends that have been so encouraging and helpful. Thank you..

Top of the World! Mt Burney Lookout

We were out early this morning fishing, got our limit and planned a nice ride across the Hwy from our camp. Don’t remember the name of the road and had no idea where we were going to be that day. Until we started riding and on the sign was a named spot of “Mt Burner Lookout”. It was a 25 mile ride. The roads we would be riding on with the quads were all dirt and very well maintained! Better than most paved roads in CA… :)
Seemed like we road for hours and we did. The scenery was serene, quiet the fragrant pines (smelled like Christmas) were so soothing.  We drove for miles and miles stopping on occasion to enjoy our surroundings. On the last leg of our journey up to Mt Burney Lookout, the road got steep and many switch backs as we climbed nearly 8,000 feet. As we were climbing we saw lots and lots of lava rock, I mean whole mountains of it! It amazed me to my wonder how this road was ever carved up to the top of this mountain. Apparently this dirt/rock road was carved back in the early 1930’s. Literally the road is over lava fields! Of course there were many places that the tall pines/forest lined each side of the road. When we did finally make it to the top and reached the ranger lookout station, we met Kim the ranger on duty that day. Her job was to over look this 360 degree forest area. You can see all the way to Mt. Shasta and as far as Mt Lassen! And then everything in between.. The whole valley was truly an awesome site. We could also see the Trinity Alps in the distance. However it was a bit hazy.. But we did get the general idea. We didn’t stay along time up on Mt Burney.. It was a bit cold and windy up there. How exciting it was to just see this incredible site! Felt like we were in an airplane.. Spectacular!! :)
